Lava Lamp: warm wax drifting in glowing liquid
A lava lamp, up close. A bulb at the bottom melts the wax until it lifts off in soft blobs that rise, cool under the cap and sink back to the pool, joining and parting on the way.
How to play
- Just watch: the lamp keeps itself going.
- Hold a finger on the wax to warm it, and it rises.
- Drag to stir the blobs gently through the liquid.
- Pick a colour: Ember, Orchid, Lagoon or Moonlight.
- Turn on sound for a soft murmur and quiet bloops.

- How does a real lava lamp work?
- The bulb warms wax on the floor of the lamp until it is a little lighter than the liquid around it, so it rises. Up at the cap it cools, gets heavier and sinks back down to be warmed again. This one follows the same idea.
